What is Stone Ale? It’s hop-forward, not hop-dependent. At 4.6% ABV, it’s a balance between Stone’s trademark hops, and China’s love of drinkability. Much like Stone’s birthplace of San Diego, it is laid-back yet full of character and nowhere near boring. The aroma pops with citrus, melon, malt, and a hint of white tea in the aroma. The taste has some melon, lemon, grapefruit, and stone fruit.
This massive imperial stout has been a favorite among our fans (and us) since its inception in 2013. As if the pecans, wheat and flaked rye weren't enough, we went ahead and aged 1/4th of this beer in bourbon barrels. The result is a whopping, intense, superhero of a beer with profound complexity that makes it ideal for cellaring... if you can wait that long.
We're fortunate to have so many massively talented and incredibly awesome folks who are part of Team Stone. One of those people is Small Batch Brewer Laura Ulrich. Not only is she a fantastically talented brewer, but she is also the president of Pink Boots Society, an organization that assists, inspires and encourages women beer industry professionals to advance their careers through education…
A MILESTONE YEAR EXPLAINED
No single day can contain something as momentous as our 20th anniversary here at Stone Brewing. Consider this yearlong celebration our unanimously agreed upon excuse to pay tribute…
For this version of Stone Enjoy By IPA we thought: “We don’t always have a filter, so why should our beer?” By skipping a step and letting this devastatingly fresh, golden-hued double IPA go un filtered, the beer takes on a hazy appearance and its peach and tropical fruit hop aroma are intensified. So though it may sound like it, this missed step was no misstep.
Like the other IPAs in this…
It’s no secret that IPAs are our favorite beer style. They represent everything we believe beer should be: bold, flavorful and distinct. And while we’ve certainly enjoyed brewing high-ABV double IPAs over the years, we loved the challenge of packing all that bold character into a 4% IPA. With notes of dankness and citrus in a beautiful golden orange haze, this beer is brewed to celebrate…
On June 11, 2019 a UK alcohol industry ‘watchdog’ called The Portman Group sent a letter to our UK importer. Odd, it seemed, why not send directly to the creator of the beer? It’s not quite the responsibility of our importer to create our label artwork and text. Nevertheless, they did the dutiful deed of forwarding it to us for our eventual, and significant bemusement. One might think that…
